Located in the heart of Romagna just 15 km from Forlì and 25 km from Cervia, Bertinoro sits on top of a hill with views over the plains as far as the sea.
In addition to its warm hospitality and splendid panoramic views from Piazza della Libertà, known as “Romagna’s Balcony”, this is a typical example of a Mediaeval citadel, full of towers, mighty walls, and historic houses.
This enchanting Mediaeval village has two special features that really celebrate the spirit of Romagna: firstly, it is known as the “village of hospitality’ par excellence thanks to the tradition of the Colonna dai Dodici Anelli, the column with twelve rings, each ring representing one of the families who would be designated to accommodate travellers who, on arrival, would tie their horse to the column; secondly, it has a deserved reputation for its wine and fine food.
There are so many osterie in the village where you can enjoy a glass of fine wine accompanied by a delicious piadina and enjoyed with stunning views of the countryside. Come and enjoy it all for yourself!
