From 11 to 22 October 2024, the exhibition "Around the World in 80 Kites" will be held at the Magazzini del sale in Cervia, with many specimens of extraordinary beauty, original creations and artefacts of the millenary tradition from more than 80 countries around the world.

The kite is celebrated as a symbol of a harmonious relationship with the environment and nature, transmitting the "spirit" of the art of the wind.

For the occasion, precious youthful miniature works by Makoto Oyhe from Toyama and some of the most important Wind Masters of the Land of the Rising Sun will also be exhibited, such as Masaaki Sato and Kengo Nagata, authors of the Nagoya insect kite and Yukjo Akiyama, inventor of the kinetic kite, to name just a few.

A true tribute to Japan, the country that more than any other has developed the tradition of the kite in an extraordinary variety of forms and meanings. In fact, the exhibition is held under the patronage of the Japanese Cultural Institute in Italy, ASCIG Associazione Scambi Culturali Italia e Giappone and the Japan Kite Association, and also establishes the twinning between the Kite Museum collection and the Tako-No-Hakubutsukan Kite Museum in Tokyo, presenting for the first time in Europe more than 20 kites from Tokyo by will of its Director Masaaki Modegi and the collector Kenzo Suzuki.

The exhibition also offers a profound reflection on the value of environmental sustainability also through the traditional materials used, such as washi paper and bamboo.
Precisely for this reason it is proposed as the perfect opportunity to present the new partnership of ARTEVENTO with AIMSC Associazione Italiana Musei della Stampa e della Carta, with the intervention of its President Nella Poggi Parigi.

The exhibition will continue until October 22nd with 12 days of educational workshops, conferences, guided tours, music and insights, an event not to be missed for all fans of the world of kite flying.
Entrance to the exhibition is free, workshops by reservation.
