Cervia
Italian Saltpan
On display at the Musa salt museum in Cervia is a series of historical black and white images illustrating some of Italy's salt pans. The exhibition, dedicated to the places of salt in Italy, is part of the event Cervia Sapore di Sale (Taste of Salt), which celebrates the salt tradition of the city of Cervia.
The images, taken from vintage postcards, include saltpans that still exist and others that over time have become nature parks or have been completely dismantled.
In some cases, only popular sayings and traditions remain in reference to the former presence of productive saltpans.
The exhibition is curated by the Gruppo Culturale Civiltà Salinara and follows the opening hours of the Museum
