May - September 2025
Cervia, Milano Marittima, Pinarella, Tagliata
Cervia Garden City
From May to September, the green spaces of Cervia, Milano Marittima, Pinarella and Tagliata dress up with plants, flowers and artistic arrangements, transforming the town into an explosion of colours and scents that enchants visitors and residents alike. Real floral messages that want to convey messages of peace and solidarity.
The event is now in its 52nd edition, with the spotlight on "RIGHTS environment sport education" linked by a single thread, Respect: for people, for nature, for well-being, for society.
The original gardens and incredible floral arrangements, created by the Masters of Green from cities, companies, institutions, schools and Italian and foreign associations and taken care of by the Green Service of the Municipality of Cervia, can be seen throughout the summer. In total, about sixty cities and Italian and European delegations collaborate with the administration in the realisation of the initiative.
The installations begin in May and the gardens remain visible until the end of September.
This year, to celebrate the passage of the Tour de France, a highly original homage has been created in the Rotonda Cadorna in Milano Marittima: a reproduction of the Eiffel Tower and a cyclist made from recycled bicycle parts, born from the imagination of recycling artist Renato Mancini.
A full programme of events will offer engaging experiences for adults and children, such as guided tours, exhibitions and workshops.
Discover all the initiatives, walk along the flowery paths and be inspired by the beauty of nature!

52nd edition Cervia Città Giardino: for RIGHTS Environment Sport Education
Europe’s largest Open-Air Floral Art Exhibition
Until the end of September
The gardens, flower beds, sculptures amidst the green are displayed like in an “open air museum” during all Summer, spread in different spots of Cervia, Milano Marittima, Pinarella and Tagliata.
Cervia Garden City
Founded in 1972 under the name ‘Maggio in Fiore’ (May in Bloom) from an idea of Germano Todoli and continued by his son Riccardo, the event took on its current name in the 1990s, to enhance the environmental characteristics of the area, which in the early 20th century stimulated the painter and town planner Giuseppe Palanti to create the garden city here. Today, as in the past, the world-famous event aims to safeguard greenery and nature in the name of friendship between peoples. Every year, Master Gardeners from over 60 Italian and foreign cities, organisations, companies, and associations are invited to Cervia to set up more than 60 green areas in May, creating Europe’s ‘largest open-air floral art exhibition’.
This year Cervia Garden City becomes an Ambassador of Rights, and does so through the environment, sport, and education.
Themes linked by a single thread that can be summed up as respect for people, communities, and nature.
