Cervia hosts the first Made-in-Italy Ironman
With the golden sands, calm sea and the wide expanses of our ancient pine forests, Cervia is the perfect destination for the first “Made-in-Italy” Ironman, the long-distance triathlon event which involves three disciplines (swimming, cycling and running), a spectacular race that takes place on the coastline of the Adriatic Riviera.
Each year, more than 3,000 triathletes begin the incredible challenge by swimming for 3.8 km in the Adriatic Sea off Cervia before climbing onto their bikes to ride 180 km through the history and beautiful scenery of the Parco Naturale delle Saline.
The race concludes with a marathon-distance through the best-known parts of Cervia and Milano Marittima, leading the athletes to the finishing line of Italy’s only Ironman event.
