Triathlon, a sport that really gets the heart going!

Swimming, cycling, and running. Triathlon is an individual multi-discipline sport, which requires suitable venues for both training and races.

The area around the Riviera is particularly well-suited to this sport thanks to the presence of the sea, the plains inland, and two hills. To further assist triathletes, there are mapped training routes whilst many accommodation providers are equipped to host athletes of all abilities.

Every year, thousands of sportsmen and women visit the Adriatic Riviera for the famous Ironman Italy Emilia Romagna, which has made Cervia into Italy’s international triathlon capital, as well as the Italian national sprint triathlon championships, which are held on 21 and 28-29 September 2024 respectively.

The events are organised by Fantini Club and Flipper Triathlon, in collaboration with the Federazione Italiana Triathlon and the full support of the Comune di Cervia and local associations. Whether you are an athlete or just a fan of the sport, you can experience it all for yourself during your holiday.
