If you are looking for somewhere where you can spend a few hours outdoors as a family, a visit to the Cervia Natural Park, just outside Milano Marittima, is a must.

The park is a special place, somewhere you can enjoy the peace and quiet offered by the mighty pine trees, where you can rediscover the sounds and scents of nature.

On a hot summer's day, stretch out on a beach towel for a rest, or even a few hours of complete relaxation, perhaps enjoying a good book or a proper Italian coffee at Bar Binario 9 e ¾. Or make use of one of the many well-equipped outdoor picnic areas. Every so often your eyes will be drawn to the canopy of the maritime pine trees, the air filled with birdsong, savouring the sensation of truly connecting with nature.

This is a wonderful place to relax, or to have fun exploring. In the cool shade of the trees you can go jogging, ride a bike or take on one of the CerviAvventura high wire courses.

You can go for a short walk or a long hike, admiring and enjoying the many plants and animals you see along the way. The forest floor is rich with shrubs including brambles, hawthorns, buckthorn, honeysuckle and barberry. Little orchids add a splash of colour to the floor. You will also find a botanical trail which points out some of the many native species in the pine forest.

Cervia Old Farm

The ‘Vecchia Fattoria', or old farm, can be found on the other side of Cervia’s canal. A place where you can get close to all sorts of farmyard animals, with the chance to pet and stroke them.

Hens, guinea fowl, turkeys, rabbits, goats, sheep, horses, cows, donkeys, deer and even peacocks, pheasants and baby pigs: you will find so many animals here, both local and from other parts of Italy, with the aim of repopulating the region with native species.
Experts are on hand to help you and your children safely interact and pet the animals and even feed them. Your children will enjoy themselves and will develop sensitivity and empathy through the animals.
Cervia Natural Park is a place to rediscover the joy of connecting with nature and sharing carefree moments of joy with your friends and family. An experience which will reward you with precious memories and will only deepen your love for our stunning coastline.

Don’t forget your phone or camera so you can capture those magic moments and keep them for ever!
