This 249 km trail runs from Cervia to Venice, parallel to the traditional Salt Route which ships would follow out to sea, a key part of Cervia’s heritage.
The route crosses natural landscapes of great value and beauty, and enters protected areas nature reserves such as the pine forests around Ravenna, the river Bevano estuary, the wetlands near Comacchio, the lagoons at Volano, the forest at Mesola, and the Veneto Delta wetlands.
It also passes close to the cities of Ravenna, Comacchio and Chioggia, before ending in Venice with a section by boat from Pellestrina and Venice Lido.
