Santa Maria del Suffragio is one of the oldest churches in Cervia. It was in fact built between 1717 and 1722, with the construction of Cervia Nuova and the Cathedral. Overall, the eighteenth-century façade of the Church has a sober and rigorous appearance. The three-color plaster, cream yellow, pink and white, allows for perfect chromatic integration with the facades of the buildings on the street. It should be noted that both the frames and the window take up the shapes and characteristics of the buildings that flank the church, according to a precise intent of urban continuity and homogeneity. This church is in fact conceived as a building that blends into the city, without standing out or detaching itself. The interior, an elliptical hall, with two small side chapels, preserves various works of historical and artistic interest. The most valuable is the fourteenth-century wooden crucifix, coming from the Church of the Minor Conventuals of Cervia Vecchia.
