Cervia
Christmas in Cervia
This year Cervia is preparing to experience an even more enchanting Christmas with the Cervia Christmas Family programme.
The old town centre is transformed into an authentic Christmas Village, decorated with charming illuminations, welcoming families and visitors in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, full of events, markets and shows designed for young and old.
The beating heart of this magical village is the majestic Christmas Tree, donated by Pinzolo-Madonna di Campiglio. As tradition dictates, the lighting of the tree takes place on Sunday 8 December, a special moment that will also feature Christmas carols from the Cervia schools as the protagonists of a festive atmosphere.
Next to the tree is the large skating rink, where you can have fun skating in an evocative setting, immersed in the magic of Christmas.
The Christmas Village is made up of characteristic wooden cottages, where you will find a wide selection of handcrafted and gastronomic products typical of the area. It will be open daily: on holidays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on weekdays from 3 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
In the Village you will also find the Elves' Garden, where children can meet Father Christmas and other friendly characters.
On weekends, in addition to the traditional markets, there will be animations, workshops for families and children such as the one with the carpenter Elves to create wooden toys, street artist shows and live music.
On New Year's Eve, under the Tower of San Michele, a musical show to cheerfully bid farewell to the past year and welcome the new one.
The inevitable Salt Crib, one of the most imposing and majestic nativity scenes in Cervia, is set up in the Canal Harbour.
The Christmas Express train travels between Cervia, the South Pole station, and Milano Marittima, the North Pole station, on weekends and holidays with departures every 20 minutes.
In addition, children can get a special passport to visit the entire village and be nominated an elf.
An unforgettable Christmas, full of traditions, activities and moments of sharing, which will make the centre of Cervia the ideal place to enjoy the festivities with the family, amid entertainment and culture, in an experience involving all the senses.
Saturday 30 November at 3.30 p.m. is scheduled for the inauguration with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Mayor Mattia Misissiroli in Piazza Garibaldi, Cervia.
On New Year's Eve, under the Torre di San Michele, a musical show to cheerfully bid farewell to the past year and welcome the new one.
