Le Navi: Cattolica’s acquarium
The journey begins the moment you enter, an adventure to explore the mysteries of the plants and animals of the Mediterranean and the tropical oceans: 100 tanks, featuring more than 3,000 examples of 400 different species from every ocean in the world. It is an engrossing experience, learning all about the mysteries of our seas, an education for both children and their parents.
There are four different tours in the park. We particularly recommend the Blue tour, featuring penguins, turtles, jellyfish and many colourful exotic fish. The shark tank is perhaps the most astonishing part of the park, with more than 50 examples of 13 different species, from tiger sharks to nurse sharks.
On the Yellow tour, you can see dwarf caymans from the Amazon as well as sweet, playful otters. The Green tour features reptiles and amphibians, including snakes, iguanas, tortoises, lizards and chameleons. Last but not least, the Purple tour is dedicated to insects, with enlarged models that enable you to see these misunderstood animals in more detail.
If you are unlucky enough to visit the Riviera on a rainy day and are stuck for ideas, Le Navi aquarium in Cattolica makes for a unique and unforgettable day, with plenty of opportunities to learn whilst having fun.
