Forlimpopoli lies on the plains at the foot of the Apennines, around 25 km from the Adriatic Riviera.
This town is best known as the birthplace of legendary Italian food writer Pellegrino Artusi (1820-1911), indeed it is known as the City of Artusi.

Founded by the Romans in the 2nd century BC, it is still a place which still offers a wealth of historic monuments, including the Rocca Albornoziana fortress, built in the mid-1300s on the ruins of an ancient cathedral which is now home to the town hall and the archaeological museum.

At the end of June, Forlimpopoli honours Pellegrino Artusi with the Festa Artusiana, an event which fills the streets of the old town for a whole week, offering menus inspired by Artusi’s great writing, as well as shows, exhibitions, tastings, and receptions.
