Historical buildings, Art Nouveau Villas
Villa Palanti
In 1912 the Società Anonima Milano Marittima decided to subdivide the pine forest, located north of the historic center of Cervia, to create a first settlement of residential villas, which were to become, as a brochure of the time states, "a small white house on the shore by the sea, or hidden among the fresh greenery of a forest". The urbanization project belonged to Giuseppe Palanti, painter and teacher at the Brera Academy, as well as a founding member of the real estate company that was to carry out the projects and, not surprisingly, his house remains one of the best preserved today. The villa, in Art Nouveau style with exotic and Moorish decorations, is located in the center of Milano Marittima, halfway between the sea and the pine forest. Dedicated to Ada, his wife, whose name is shown in the beautiful decoration of the wall outside the house together with a love verse by Gabriele D'Annunzio.
