Mare Pineta Hotel
Inaugurated in 1926 by the Duke of Aosta, it was initially conceived by the Società Anonima Milano Marittima, founder of the new location, as a "civil house divided into small apartments of two to four rooms", as the president of the Society Gerolamo Pirinoli said in 1962 , on the occasion of the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the foundation. Soon, however, a few years after the construction of the first villas and at the end of the First World War, the need was felt to create a hotel to encourage tourism in the locality. Hence the birth of the Hotel Mare Pineta, so called to recall the peculiar characteristics of the place, the sea and the pine forest. Right from the start there were tennis courts, a large garden, a private beach and a terrace with sea view, which made it, yesterday as today, one of the most fashionable and innovative hotels of the times.
