Across 1000 is the challenge led by Andrea Pelo di Giorgio to raise awareness for the protection of the environment and marine life.
The initiative is in support of Sea Shepherd Italy's Ghostnet campaign.
Every stroke counts: the sum of the km will be the sum of the effort of each participant. For every km swum, 3 euros will be donated to the campaign.
Participants will swim from 24 August to 1 September within a triangular route along the coast marked by buoys, embarking on an epic journey that symbolises both the physical endurance of cetaceans and the many animals that populate the Oceans and Seas, and the commitment to safeguarding our marine ecosystems.
