September 21 - September 22, 2024
Cervia
Ironman Italy Emilia Romagna
IRONMAN is the longest official distance triathlon, one of the toughest races ever. On 21 and 22 September, the only Italian stage of this spectacular American sport returns. Get ready for an incredible challenge!
The race kicks off on Cervia beach, where at first light in the morning triathletes will dive into the sea to swim the first 3.8 kilometres. Upon arrival, IRONMAN continues with the most scenic stage of all. Riding their bikes, the athletes will pedal 180 kilometres through the Saline Nature Park, past magnificent pink flamingos, luminous pools of water and the pungent smell of salt water. Then up into the hills to Bertinoro and back.
The race concludes with a marathon through the most characteristic parts of the resort. The athletes who manage to cross the coveted finish line will be awarded the title of Ironman 'finisher' in Italy.
It will be a unique weekend of one of the most difficult and, at the same time, incredible sports.
I am waiting for you to experience a whirlwind of emotions together!
