The Bacchae - A Subversive Fairy Tale
On 13 December, the Municipal Theatre in Cervia will stage Euripides' Le Baccanti.
An extraordinary reinterpretation of the tragedy with a belly dance performance by Amira Danza, narrative voices Monica Briganti and Alessandro Pieri, soprano Nicoletta Zanini, and music by Lorenzo Gasperoni on guitar, Mauro Gazzoni on percussion, and Raffaella Benini on piano.
In this unique version, a mysterious goddess guides women towards a wild and uncontrollable freedom, embodied by belly dancing.
The choreography, created by Claudia Turroni, explores the archaic feminine, intoxication and superhuman lightness, recounting the strength of women rebelling against imposed limits. An interpretation that transports into a world of sensuality, power and rebellion.
Godmother of the evening the singer Kelly Joyce, testimonial of the singing project Toxic Freedom, artists from TV united against violence against women.
