A section is dedicated to the history of the building that houses the Museum, the former Classe sugar factory, and its recovery: an important monument of industrial archaeology, whose importance in the past remains alive in the memory of the people of Ravenna.

Highlights

The Museum, awarded the Francovich prize in 2021, tells the events that characterize the history of Ravenna and its territory through some essential chronological junctions. The setup is highly innovative in its display solutions. The Museum is accessed via a ramp decorated in the center by the large "Wave Mosaic" which symbolically establishes the close link between Ravenna and the sea and suggests the connection with the other sites of the Classe Archaeological Park.
