Cervia in bloom
For more than 50 years gardeners, experts and engineers from all over the world have been putting their creative skills to work to design every inch of this wonderful space with plants and flowers, producing stunning displays that impress everyone who sees them.
Every year, more than 60 teams of gardeners meet in Cervia representing cities in Italy and abroad, as well as companies, organisations, schools and associations, to decorate the most beautiful parts of the town for the tourist season. More than 350,000 flowers and thousands of square metres of artificial grass are used every year throughout the summer period. It is a town-wide exhibition in the public spaces across Cervia, the brainchild of Germano Todoli and continued by his son Riccardo.
Since 2004, the event has been honoured by the President of Italy with the “Premio di Rappresentanza” as an important cultural initiative. The international teams create an outdoor floral art display which this year marks its 51st edition with the theme of “Sustainable gardens: climate, peace, future”, open at any time of the day from May to September, until it is replaced the following spring when the city gets a new floral look.
